Inisight Book Club

The “Insight Book & Media Club” will be a social place to explore Insight (Vipassana) Meditation from multiple perspectives. The group will use articles and excerpts from books, video, and audio files as we learn Buddhist teachings while discovering practical tips on how to enhance the practice of mindfulness meditation. The group will typically use free material widely available from the internet. We meet every third Sunday at 12:15PM. Please click on the RSVP link below to sign-up through MeetUp!

  1. I got so much out of the reading and follow-up discussion in today’s group. Thanks to all who helped to explain the answer to my question in a way that a beginner like me can understand. Can’t wait until we meet again!

  2. Thanks for a great start to our exploration of MINDFULNESS IN PLAIN ENGLISH.
I find that coming on Sunday mornings is a motivation for my daily practice.

  3. Thank you all for attending our second Insight Book and Media Club get-together.
We’re growing and it’s all thanks to Keith, the group’s organizer, and….you.
    Thank you!

  4. Thank you, group, for the collective wisdom you shared with me, during the book club meeting. This is a great place to learn and grow. I look forward to coming back.

  5. I enjoyed the book club on Sunday. It is great to be with a group of “like minded” people who have a desire to live a sane and grounded life and want to explore some important issues together.

  6. To the Insight Book Group — I have a couple of requests for this Sunday’s discussion. One is that I would like us to talk about the chapter this week. Chapter 3 in MINDFULNESS IN PLAIN ENGLISH. The other is to ask if we could speak more from or about our personal experience.
We did not talk about Chapter 2 last week, and we might want to come back to that, now or later.
It’s my understanding that we decided not to read the chapter out loud, that we would read the chapter on our own and talk about it, without reading it together. Is that everyone’s understanding?
    Thanks for listening.

  7. That is my understanding as well Jean. I echo Jean’s request that we discuss the chapter in the book. While the last meeting’s discussion was interesting, I felt somewhat excluded because I add nothing to add to the conversation.

    See you Sunday…..Sharon

  8. Thanks again to those of you who attended the IBMC meeting yesterday. Always a pleasure and a source of deep insight!

  9. What a wonderful chance to discuss a really amazing book (Mindfulness in Plain English). The discussion is very helpful for me! Thanks for keeping this going Keith. :-)
